My Winter Race Calendar
Originally I planned to lay low this winter, snuggling by the fire, resting my legs, and drowning in hot chocolate. But when the SeaWheeze Half in September didn't go exactly as planned, I decided I had some unfinished business with my half-marathon pursuits. So I threw some darts at race map, marked my calendar, and turned on my engines for another shot at a sub 1h40m finish.
Check out the races I'll be running this winter and comment below if you'll be joining me for any of them!
Kiawah Half-Marathon - Dec. 9, Kiawah Island, SC
I ran this race seven years ago with my mom and sis, and the only two things I remember: 1) My finish time was molasses slow, but 2) this course was by far one of the most scenic routes I've ever run. 😍 So my only goals for round 2: 1) be a bit more competitive, and 2) snap some wicked sunrise selfies.
Wanna explore 13.1 miles of Kiawah's finest? It's not too late to join me here.
Great Chocolate Race 5-Miler - Feb. 17, Charlotte, NC
Endorphins, weight-loss, therapy. We all have our reasons for running. Well mine is chocolate. 🍫 So since the Great Chocolate Race is promising truffles and cocoa for everyone who crosses its finish line, you better believe I'll be there front 'n center.
Who's gonna chocolate comatose with me? Get your fix here.
NYC Half-Marathon - March 18, New York, NY
Go Big Apple or go home. 🗽 But truth is, I'm really shooting in the dark by putting this bad boy on my race schedule, because I've entered the race drawing but won't officially find out if I'm chosen to run until December 6th. So until then, I'll be crossing my fingers and replaying Empire State of Mind for good fortune. 😜 And if luck isn't on my side, my back-up plan will be to run the BB&T Corporate Cup Half-Marathon here in Charlotte the week before. Either way, a killer way to kick off the new year!
There are still 4 days left to enter the race drawing! Feel like taking a gamble? Throw your name in the bucket here.
